ISEO’s Student Services advising team supports international students in F-1 and J-1 status who have accepted an offer of admission to UC San Diego, are currently enrolled in courses at UC San Diego, or are alumni participating in OPT, STEM OPT, or Academic Training.
Important Note:
- Final Rule regarding Fixed Period of Stay in the U.S.: ISEO advisors cannot provide individual guidance on the final rule ending Duration of Status at this point in time. Please visit our Final Rule on Fixed Period of Stay webpage for the latest updates.
- No Expedites: Expedites of iServices requests are not available. We encourage you to plan accordingly.

August 2026 – The International Services and Engagement Office (ISEO) relocated to the East Wing of the Triton Administrative Services Building, part of the new Triton Center. While our physical office is temporarily closed as we transition to our new space, ISEO remains fully operational online.
Our team continues to process all requests and provide virtual advising services without interruption. We remain committed to supporting our international students throughout this transition. General Questions and Complex Cases:
- Submit a Contact Form with a thorough description of the topic/situation you would like to discuss.
- An ISEO Advisor will either answer your questions or direct you to make an appointment.
Upon successful submission of the contact form, a ticket will be created for you! You will receive a separate email confirming creation of a Ticket Number. If you need to add more information or want to follow up on your ticket after submission, you can simply reply to the email. If you have a campus AD account, you can also go to the Service Portal and update your ticket there.
*Please note, standard response time is 7-10 business days. During peak times (April-August), response times may be delayed. We encourage you to thoroughly explore our website for detailed guidance, and plan ahead.
VIRTUAL: Scheduled 20 Minute Appointments
SCHEDULED 20 MINUTE APPOINTMENTS WITH ISEO ADVISORS
Request a virtual appointment (20 minutes) with an International Student Advisor to discuss complex case questions and have an in-depth exploration and development of your long-term plans in the U.S.
New Appointments become available a week in advance. If you do not see any appointments, check back later.
APPOINTMENT REQUEST POLICY
ISEO will review your 20 Minute Appointment Request to ensure that we are offering adequate access to appointments for students with complex case questions.
You will receive a confirmation email if your appointment request has been approved.
Appointment Requests will NOT be accepted for the following reasons:
- iServices Requests: Students who have questions regarding an iServices Request should utilize Email or iServices Technical Support. Appointments following up on iServices Requests (checking on status or requesting expedite) will be cancelled.
- Document Review: ISEO will not review documents (job offers, Form I-983, financial documents, etc.) that are uploaded as part of an iServices Request. Documents will only be reviewed by an advisor through the submission of an iServices request and will not be reviewed during an appointment.
- Arrival Times: ISEO has limited availability for appointments each week. If you arrive more than 5 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled. If your availability changes or you no longer need to meet with an advisor, please cancel or reschedule your appointment.
- ISEO Cancellations: Provide as much detail when you book an appointment. Students who book appointments to follow up on their iServices Request (status or to request expedite), have questions that are not visa-advising related, or have questions that are better directed to a different unit on campus may have their appointments cancelled. ISEO reserves the right to cancel or reschedule your appointment as little as 1 hour prior to your booked appointment.

Request a brief meeting (10 minutes) with an International Student Advisor to discuss quick questions related to visa regulations or navigate campus bureaucracy.

Students who are experiencing technical difficulties with iServices (such as issues logging in or submitting a request) after reviewing the iServices Instructions page are encouraged to email ISEO.
Note: Students must login using Active Directory, NOT Student SSO.

Parking Information
- The Gilman Parking Structure has visitor spaces (marked "V") available for parking by the hour, and is located on Gilman Drive and Russell Lane.
- Use the pay stations located on each floor to purchase your permit.
- The South Parking Structure has visitor spaces (marked "V") available for parking by the hour, and is located on Gilman Drive and Biomedical Sciences Way.

Shuttle and Public Transit
Triton Transit
Triton Transit operates fare-free on- and off-campus service for students, faculty, and staff, including four primary service lines:- Shuttles – Fixed-route service between campus shuttle stops
- Mobility – Door-to-door service for individuals with limited mobility
- On Demand – On-Demand service between existing Triton Transit stops during evening hours and academic breaks when fixed route service is reduced or suspended
- Charters – Support for campus events, academic and student organization field trips and athletic travel

Public Transit
Several mass transit routes serve the campus and surrounding area. UC San Diego offers different programs that provide discounted transit access for faculty, staff and students.
These include The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) buses who stop at the Gilman Transit Center, which is located on Gilman Drive just west of the Gilman Parking Structure, which is about a block from our office in Triton Administrative Services Building.
